Teconnaught Ladies Football was
started by Manager, Hugh Murnin,
five years ago.The team has now
been playing competitive
football for four years and in
that short space of time has
reached two Junior Championship
Finals. The general interest
generated by Hugh and the team
is tremendous and great things
are expected in the future.
Our
U 14 Girls are managed by Orla
Green ,Kerri Greene and Michelle
Greene. 2006 was the Girl's
first year in competitive
football and they went from
strength to strength with their
confidence growing with every
game . The success of the team
was due mainly to the
commitment, discipline and
tactical knowledge of the
management trio. Laura Burns led
by example as captain but was
ably supported by players of the
calibre of Natasha Maguire,
Catherine Greene, Kate Mc Carthy
and Aideen Gibney.
The
club are also hoping to start a
Girl's U16 team next season .
Anyone interested in joining
will be very welcome.
We
achieved great success with our
local primary school team, Holy
Family ,Teconnaught. Under the
guidance of Mr Declan Murray
,Vice -Principal, the Girls won
the Down Primary School's
Championship after an exciting
final played in Castlewellan
against Legamaddy . It is
anticipated that all of the
girls in the photograph below
will form the backbone of future
underage teams.
