Warrenpoint Hurling: Paddy Braniff Guest Coach

Paddy Branniff coaching ball skills to the U-10s through games.

This week Warrrenpoint welcomed guests Paddy Braniff and current Down senior county panelist John Murphy.

Paddy is a native of Ballygalget and has wealth of experience is second to none, he has coached at every level from schools to senior county and is one of Down's Schools Coaches.  John is from Rostrevor (but hurls with Clonduff) and is one of a select few from south Down to have made the Senior County Panel.  With aproximately 90 children turning up to this week's training camp they had their work cut out for the 2 hour session.  The session revolved around a mixture of ballwork and fun as can bee seen in the photos below.

In 2 weeks time current Down players  Graham Clarke and Gareth Johnston will take on the role of guest coaches and the following week former Down greats Noel Keith and Hugh Gilmore (current county selector)  will be taking the kids.  There is even word of a recent Munster All-Star taking a session later in the year.

The Warrentpoint scheme is for both boys and girls from 6 -12 years old.  It will run for a further 15 weeks and all children from South Down are welcome.
