This week
Warrrenpoint welcomed guests
Paddy Braniff and current Down
senior county panelist John
Murphy.
Paddy is a native
of Ballygalget and has wealth of
experience is second to none, he
has coached at every level
from schools to senior county
and is one of Down's Schools
Coaches. John is from Rostrevor
(but hurls with Clonduff) and is
one of a select few from south
Down to have made the Senior
County Panel. With aproximately
90 children turning up to this
week's training camp they had
their work cut out for the 2
hour session. The session
revolved around a mixture of
ballwork and fun as can bee seen
in the photos below.

In 2 weeks time
current Down players Graham
Clarke and Gareth Johnston will
take on the role of guest
coaches and the following week
former Down greats Noel Keith
and Hugh Gilmore (current county
selector) will be taking the
kids. There is even word of
a recent Munster All-Star taking
a session later in the year.
The Warrentpoint
scheme is for both boys and
girls from 6 -12 years old. It
will run for a further 15 weeks
and all children from South Down
are welcome.
