
St Peters, Warrenpoint GAA and the
Newry branch of Ireland Recruitment
Agency of the Year, Grafton Recruitment
have kicked off the return of the
successful Caman Og Hurling Academy
for all young children aged 5-12 years
of age. Speaking at the re- launch
of the Academy, a delighted Denise
Hopps, Branch Manager of Grafton Newry
said; "We're delighted to once
again to be actively involved with
Caman Og and support local young individuals
to reach their aspirations in their
sporting vocation, we thrive at a
grass roots level, having the kids
and managers from Caman Og along today
to launch the sponsorship deal, is
a perfect example of what Grafton
is all about.”
Following from the success of last
year the official launch will be Wednesday
7th, with training running from 11.30
to 1pm every Saturday for 15 weeks
in St. Marks playing fields. Brian
Murphy, Caman Og Manager commented
“This year again we have committed
and qualified coaches from within
the club and county offering the finest
coaching available to provide all
young hurlers and camogs the opportunity
to learn the basic skills of our native
sport and of course to have an enjoyable
time.”
With support coming from our Senior
Committee and the County Board; with
the endeavour of our numerous coaches;
with the grateful use of the school
premises by St. Marks and of course
the generous and continued support
of Grafton Recruitment it is hoped
that the Academy can prove just as
successful and rewarding in 2008 as
it was in 2007. All parents are encouraged
to bring their kids each and every
Saturday and to contact any hurler
in the town for further details.
