Ballyholland
juvenile awards night - 27/11/02
Ballyholland Harps Social Club was the
setting for the annual juvenile awards, where there was
a huge turn-out of youngsters, family members and friends.
In his welcoming address the Chairman, Sean McAteer congratulated
all the players on their success over the past season and
thanked the team mentors for their continued hard work and
dedication. He also encouraged parents to become more involved
and to follow closely their children progress at under age
level.
Juvenile team managers Cyril OReilly and Sean Ross in addressing
the audience stated that there was a nucleus of excellent
players from under-8 to under-16 within the club and having
reached four finals at this level over the past season,
it would not be long before the silverware would be adorning
the trophy cabinet in Ballyholland.
County panellists Shane Mulholland, Ronan
Murtagh and Paul Murphy made the various presentations and
pride of place on the night was the Kieran Sands Memorial
Shield which the club had annexed this season. Special presentations
of bouquets of flowers were made to Mrs. Teresa McQuillan
and Mrs. Ann Kane for both looking after transport and the
all important jerseys.
