Kingdom's juvenile awards night - 27/11/02

Two hugely memorable An Riocht presentation nights were held at Dunavil last week. Special guests were Armagh All Ireland and All Star winner Oisin McConville, Ben Fox and Down and An Riocht senior player John Clarke. McConville certainly got into the mood of the occasion when he signed over 100 posters for the young players.

McConville then took part in a free kick competition in the sports hall. Back in 1989 An Riocht and McConville's club Crossmaglen were both representing their counties at Feile Peil in Galway and a then young Oisin and the Kingdom's Damian Cunningham met in the final of the All Ireland skills competition. After a marathon session, the two boys just could not be separated and were declared joint champions. A few years later John Clarke represented An Riocht and Down when he took part and won the skills final.

On Wednesday night Oisin faced Damian but they both had their thunder stolen by U14 Leigh Campbell who won this particular contest.

Martin Clarke won Oisin's signed jersey in the raffle.
