All-Ireland club champions come to Newry - Mayobridge v Ballinderry - 23/10/02

The Ulster club SFC quarter-final between the All-Ireland club champions Ballinderry (Derry) and Mayobridge (Down) a repeat of last seasons Ulster club final will be played at Pairc Esler, Newry this Sunday, October 27th.

With home advantage and the experience of playing Ballinderry last season, Down champions Mayobridge will be hoping to cause an upset on this occasion.

However, they will have to turn in a tremendous performance to overcome a Ballinderry side who were very impressive in their recent Derry SFC campaign, especially in the final when they defeated a strong and determined Loup side convincingly at Celtic Park, Derry.

The Mayobridge club are hoping that all loyal supporters of Down football will come out in force for this game, as a win for the Down champions would be a great boost to the game in the county, and would hopefully send the Mayobridge on to further glory in the campaign.

It has all the makings of a great game, and should attract a large attendance to the newly refurbished Newry venue.
