Division One Play-offs 23/11/02

This weekend sees the various league play-offs continue. Seeking two of the top four spots in Division One are Burren and Bryansford who will be playing at Ballymartin on Sunday at 12.30. A draw would give both clubs the two sports. But should Burren win they would get one of the positions. There would then be another play-off between Bryansford and Castlewellan for the other place. Burren last week took a massive step to qualification when they defeated Castlewellan by 0-17 to 0-14.

At the other end of the table An Riocht and Downpatrick meet in Newcastle on Sunday at 12.30 p.m in the relegation play off's. A win for the An Riocht side would see Downpatrick relegated to the second division for the first time in 25 years - The last time Downpatrick were relegated was in 1977. That year they won the county championship. The Dowpatrick side in 1977 was managed by present Downpatrick player Karl Oakes's father.
