Bredagh notch Up 100th Youth Game - 11/11/02

Bredagh Youth reached a milestone on Sunday November 10th at Sarsfields when the U-12s played the 100th game in 2002. that includes football for boys and girls, and hurling.

It was fitting that the game itself was an exciting, high-scoring draw at 5-6 each. Bredagh Coaches Michael Coffey and Damien Canavan were very pleased with the boys efforts and their discipline, especially in the face of some unsavoury tactics by the home side. Sean Irwin scored a couple of goals and was only denied a hat-trick by the crossbar. Cormac White played in goals and Donal Hughes proved that he will be one to watch next year.

Bredagh boys and girls packed up for the year after a great weekend of football and fun at Cherryvale. First, the girls had a Skills Day on Saturday using the new gaelic posts provided by the City Council.

Then on Sunday, the U-10s used the same posts and the U-8s had a great time with the smaller set of posts as they also wrapped up for the year. The South Belfast News had a photographer at each event, and there is a super spread in the paper.
