AUSTRALIA NAME TEST SQUAD 13/10/03

The Australian squad for the International Rules two-Test series against
Ireland has been announced. Australian coach Garry Lyon said the squad
selected is a mixture of experienced players and newcomers and although many big
name players were unavailable for selection due to post-season surgery, the selected
players were all committed to representing their country. "We took an
enthusiastic side to Ireland last year and they did an outstanding job to win
the series," Lyon said. The Australian coach named Hawthorn player Shane
Crawford captain of the home side adding that Crawford's outstanding leadership
in the last series was an important factor in Australia's success. The
two Tests will be played at Subiaco Oval in Perth on Friday 24th October and at
Melbourne's MCG on Friday 31st October. The Australian squad is:-
