Championship Draw 2003 - 28/10/02

The draw for the 2003 Bank of Ireland Football Championship was made live on RTE One Television on Monday evening, with some interesting ties in prospect. All-Ireland champions Armagh will face Monaghan in the preliminary round in Ulster - the winners then to face Down in the quarters. The Tyrone v Derry quarter-final provides arguably the most mouth-watering pairing in the province.

Leinster champions Dublin will be extremely wary of the victors of the Wicklow v Louth game, while Meath will take on the winners of the Westmeath v Carlow match. Meanwhile, Longford will be hoping to continue their renaissance when they play Kildare in their quarter-final.

Connacht Championship title holders Galway must overcome Roscommon in order to earn a semi-final tie against the winners of the Leitrim v New York match.

A semi-final against Mayo awaits last year's surprise package Sligo, if they can oust London.

In Munster, this year's beaten All-Ireland finalists Kerry will play
either Tipperary or Waterford in the semi-finals, while provincial champions Cork play Limerick in the first round.

The winners of that game face Clare.
