Donegal boss name team to face Down - 25/07/03

2003 All-Ireland Qualifer
Down v Donegal
@ 4.15 p.m. Clones, Sat 26th July 2003

Donegal football manager Brian McEniff has announced his team to meet Down on Saturday in the All Ireland Qualifer at Clones. As expected McEniff has altered his attack as well as making an enforced change to their defence. Last year's captain Mark Crossan makes his championship comeback in place of injured corner-back Damien Diver, while Christy Toye replaces Johnny McCafferty in a re-shaped forward line.

Crossan makes his first competitive appearance for his county since injuring his knee badly in last season's Ulster final against Armagh. The 32-year-old is named at left corner-back, but may move to a more familiar full-back role. If so, Ray Sweeney would be expected to go into the corner.

Down will not name their team until before the match as they wait on the result from Gergory McCartans second appeal which is being heard tonight in Croke Park.
