Tyrone team named for replay - 18/07/03

2003 Ulster Football Championship - Final Replay
Tyrone v Down
@ 2.30 p.m. Clones, Sunday 20th July 2003
All Ticket Game (live on RTE and BBC)

After conceding four goals in last Sunday's Ulster final, Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has reacted by introducing Pascal McConnell in goal for the replay against Down on Sunday at Clones.

Losing out is John Devine, a fellow clubman of manager Harte. According to Harte, Devine, who has just recently recovered from a kidney problem, is not fully match-fit.

In a defence that was badly mauled by the Down forwards, Tyrone have left a vacancy at fullback due to concerns over Chris Lawn and Colin Holmes. Lawn is suffering from a groin injury while Holmes place is very doubtful as his ankle injury kept him from training this week.

Also losing out is Declan McCrossan who was replaced on Sunday last, with the centre back position going to Ciaran Gourley who performed well on his introduction. Dermot Carlin retains his position at corner back. With the injury list mounting for the Tyrone side, manager Harte has named Stephen O'Neill (ankle) and Gerard Cavlan (groin) on the substitutes bench.

Tyrone: (SF v Down) - P. McConnell, D. Carlin, A. N. Other, R. McMenamin, C. Gormley, C. Gourley, P.Jordan, C. McAnallen, S. Cavanagh, B. Dooher, B. McGuigan, K. Hughes, E. McGinley, P. Canavan, O. Mulligan.
