The East Down minor football league is nearing
completion. Castlewellan gained two easy points
against Ard glass who failed to field, leaving
the St. Malachy’s club now top of Section A -
one point ahead of Ardglass with a game to play.
Carryduff missed a chance to join them when they
lost to Downpatrick by two points. Kilcoo are a
point behind after their win over Bryansford,
who now prop up the league table.
In Section B, Loughinisland overcame Dromora in
a ten goal thriller to maintain their position
at the top of the table - two points ahead of
Dundrum who have a game in hand. Teconnaught
were defeated by Bredagh and join Dundrum and
Liatroim in joint second place.
In Section C, the surprise of the day was the
defeat of leaders St. Paul’s by Saul who now
move into second spot.
The U-12, U-14 and U-16 football league started
in both South and East Down at the week-end. |
