The Down County GAA Committee today announced
a three year agreement with sports clothing manufacturer
'Gaelic Gear'. All playing gear worn by Down teams in
hurling and football at all levels over the next three
years will be manufactured by 'Gaelic Gear'. The Lurgan
based company will also be responsible for the production
of official replica gear.
Welcoming the announcement Down GAA Chairman Eamon O'Toole
said;
"We are today entering into a new and exciting partnership
with 'Gaelic Gear.' I have been very impressed with the
range of products which the company has offered to the
Down County Committee and I look forward to a successful
relationship in the years ahead. This is a thrilling new
development, in what is the centenary year of the Association
in the county and I would exhort all our clubs, schools
and supporters to support 'Gaelic Gear' which has a wide
range of competitively priced, high quality products.
I hope and trust that the quality of our performances
on the field of play, will match the quality of the merchandise
worn by our teams."
Danny Stewart, Managing Director of 'Gaelic Gear', said
he was delighted that the Down County Committee had selected
his company to manufacture the playing gear for their
county teams.

board. Because of the magnificent achievements of their
county teams over the years, Down have been referred to
as the aristocrats of the GAA in Ulster and we are deeply
honoured to be now clothing them. Together we will prove
to be a winning combination."
