Underage football finals - 27/09/03

East Down under-12 A football championship winners Bredagh will be going all-out for their second all-county title this season when they meet Mayobridge in the final at the Burren venue on Saturday 4th October - game commencing at 2.30 p.m. They last won the title in 1980, and players and supporters will be hoping the 'long wait' will be over on this occasion!

Liatroim will also be in action at the Burren venue when the play Glenn in the Under-12 B decider. Kilcoo meet Mayobridge in the under-16 B Final at 4 p.m.

The under-14 B championship final between Drumaness and Mayobridge will be played at the Clonduff venue on Saturday, October 4th at 1 p.m. This will be followed at 4 p.m. by the M.F.C. 'B' final between Castlewellan and St. Martin's combination (Glenn/Saval).

Looking at these fixtures it is interesting to note that the Mayobridge club, the current senior champions are deeply involved in these under-age finals, and the great youth policy within the club continues to bring on exciting new talent that can take over from the likes of Mickey Linden, Benny Coulter and Michael Walsh in the years ahead!
