Liatroim survived a brave comeback by Newry Shamrocks at Hilltown on Friday night to clinch a semi-final place in the Down football
championship.
An Aiden O'Prey goal helped Liatroim to establish 1-12
to 0-06 lead with just 10 minutes left.
But the Newry side fought back and, with Brendan
Loughran netting, lost out by just 1-12 to 1-11.
The Club championship action continues with games in
Down, Derry, Monaghan, Cavan and Antrim.
The three remaining last eight ties in Down take place
early next week including Wednesday's game between holders Mayobridge and An
Riocht.
