Down's Graham Clarke came second behind Tipp's Brendan Bummins.
Graham was a former winner of the Junior event and this is his best placing to date. He has been Ulster champion several times and this is his best performance in the All Ireland Final.
He was a head of Damien Fitzhenry of Wexford, Tipp star Eoin Kelly and Clare hurling Keeper Davy Fitzgerald.
