DOWN 2-7 DERRY 5-13

Holders Down were dethroned by a strong determined Derry side on Sunday in Ballybofey. On the day Down continued what they have been doing all season by only starting to play in the 2nd half unfortunatly this time they had left it too late. Derry opened the scoring with a screaming goal on 14 seconds from Katie McAuley and never really looked back. After the restart Derry did the same again with a goal on 30 seconds. Down then played in phases but never got up the momentum to repeat last years preformance when 9 points down at half time. The pick of the players for Down were Finnoula Carr Catherine McGourty & Orla & Moya Maginn.
