SFC: Burren v Warrenpoint

Reigning SFL champions, Burren booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Down SFC when they overcame a disappointing Warrenpoint side at Pairc Esler, Newry on Sunday, 12th of August on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-7.

The Burren side dominated the opening half and were ahead at the break by 1-6 to 0-2. Warrenpoint improved in the second-half and made a game of it. However, Burren always held the edge and they duly won in the end by a five points margin.

Burren marksmen were – K. McKernan 0-5, C. McGovern 0-2, R. McGovern and D. Rooney 0-1 apiece.

Warrenpoint scorers were – G. Boyle 0-4, C. Carty 0-2, G. Smyth 0-1.
