The Ulster Council GAA is launching a ‘Promotional
Campaign’ for the 2008 ‘Gaelic
Life Dr McKenna Cup’. Vouchers entitling
Under 16s Free Admission to all games in this
year’s competition are being distributed
to the schools within the province, as well
as being included in the weekly edition of
GaelicLife, every Friday. Any school that
has not yet received these vouchers should
contact their Football / Hurling Development
Officer or the Ulster Council on 02837 521900
or www.ulster.gaa.ie.
This promotional activity is intended to
promote a festival like and family friendly
atmosphere at our games and the Ulster Council
has identified 3 key fixtures that will provide
special entertainment, namely:
Wednesday 9th January 2008: Tyrone v Down
at Omagh
- Face Painters, Balloon Modelers, Life size
Cartoon Characters, Special Guest Malachi
Cush, with Scor Entertainment and Irish Dancers.
Wednesday 16th January 2008: Down v Donegal
at Newry
- Face Painters, Balloon Modelers, Life size
Cartoon Characters, Special Guest Malachi
Cush, with Scor Entertainment and Irish Dancers.
Saturday 26th January 2008: Final
- Face Painters, Balloon Modellers, Life size
Cartoon Characters and other entertainment.
As part of this marketing campaign, The Ulster
Council is encouraging a ‘No Foul Language’
initiative. NFL wristbands, as well as a number
of sponsors’ items will be distributed
at these events.
Additionally, one special competition programme
will be produced for the entire ‘Gaelic
Life Dr McKenna Cup’ which will serve
as an information booklet for the complete
competition. These will be on sale at all
games in the competition.
