DOWN GAA – A Review of 2007

DOWN GAA – A Review of 2007 hits the shelves of local stores throughout Down this week as well as being available from all GAA clubs in the county.

The revamped annual with a unique design, layout and size for a GAA Yearbook has over 200 pages packed with articles and photographs of all aspects of Gaelic Games in Down from Club to County Level - for example, Mayobridge’s four in a row in the Senior Championship, Clonduff’s double success in Camogie and Ladies Football, Ballycran’s Senior and Intermediate Hurling titles and Kilcoo’s success at Under 14 and Under 16 levels.

The book also has a number of feature articles which people might find interesting including: An interview with Aussie Rules star Martin Clarke; St Columban’s College U-16 All Ireland Winners; John McCallister, Ulster Unionist MLA speaks about his County Final Experience; Pairc Esler – Down’s revamped county ground; From Mourne to Twickenham; The club is more than the first 15; Jim (Jingo) McKernan – Down’s new Hurling Boss; Red Apple in a Very Orange Orchard; Queen’s University Sigerson Cup Winners 2007 - If at First You Don’t Succeed . . . and many many more articles.

The book, which has been edited once again by Down County GAA PRO, Diarmuid Cahill and Elaine Dunne, is available from all usual outlets and GAA Clubs within County Down at £10.00.
