Mayobridge
Community Centre will be the venue this
Sunday evening for the South Down finals
of the 2007 Scór Sinsear competitions.
Following last weeks semi-finals in
Hilltown and Annaclone, just nine of the
South Down clubs managed to get through
to the finals this year, with pride of
place going to Clonduff with five sets
of competitors competing in the finals.
In
Ceili Dancing, Warrenpoint and
Glassdrumman face each other for the
premier spot in South Down, while in
Solo Song, representatives from Clonduff
Football club, Longstone, Glenn and
Rostrevor take part.
The
Mayobridge musicians have it all their
own way in Instrumental Music, but must
face Glassdrumman in the Ballad Group
section.
Clonduff football
and Camogie clubs are represented in the
Recitation, as are Longstone,
Glassdrumman and Rostrevor; whilst
Clonduff (again) faces Attical and
Rostrevor in the Novelty Acts.
In Set
Dancing, Clonduff and Warrenpoint renew
old rivalries and last but not least,
Clonduff, Mayobridge, Longstone and
Tullylish will battle it out for the
Gerry Fitzmaurice Trophy, the oldest
Scór trophy in Ireland.
The
start time in Mayobridge is 7.00pm and
the organisers hope to get the show
underway right on time.
