The Down Supporters
Club provided a timely boost to the
counties football and hurling teams when
their chairman Seamus McGeeney handed
over a cheque for £9,000 to the Down GAA
County Board Training Fund.
Seamus presented the
cheque to Down GAA PRO Diarmuid Cahill,
and Down Senior Football captain Declan
Rooney. The money will help to assist
with the promotion of all GAA games in
the County at all levels and is a great
boost to the County as they prepare for
the up coming Ulster Championship game
against Monaghan in Pairc Esler, on
Sunday 10th June.
The money was raised
through membership, quiz nights, bus
trips and selling advertising space in
the home National Football League
programmes.
