Down and Ballygalget regulars Graham Clarke and Gareth
“magic” Johnson to visit Caman Og Saturday 19th May.
Both players have a distinguished county and inter-county
career behind them, with both winning Down and Ulster Club titles for
their clubs. Both are regulars for their county, with Graham Clarke
Down’s long time goalkeeper, with Magic Johnson occupying the forward
line. Both have participated in many Ulster Championship finals, and both
played in the team that narrowly lost to Westmeath in the inaugural
Christy Ring final in 2005 at Croke Park.
Graham Clarke has also put his goal-keeping skills to good
use in the famous Poc Fada competition in the Cooley Peninsula, coming
second in 2006 and winning the pairs competition with Clare legend Davey
Fitz in 2002.
Certainly an opportunity for all the kids to learn a thing
or two from such prolific county stars, especially for any aspiring
goalkeepers out there!
