Venue – Newmarket on Fergus

The score says everything. Clare were out to pay back Down from preventing them going through to the National Junior League Finals and they did so in great style.

The first score of the game came from Ballycran’s Catherine McGourty in the 6^th minute but Clare’s Corrina Rosengrave secured a goal and this was followed by another 2 points by Catherine which all came from frees. By the time half time came the score was Clare 1.5 Down 0.5.

Down did not play at all in the second half. Their only point of this half came from Liatroim’s Kelly O’Higgins who was brought on in the closing minutes of the first half.

Clare out played and out manoeuvred Down. The Mourne Ladies played miserably and it was a long road home for them as the final score was Clare 4:11 Down 0:6.
