GAA president Nicky Brennan will be the special
guest at the Down county finals this Sunday
(7th October), which take place in the newly
redeveloped Pairc Esler, Newry.
There will be a three-game programme with the
Ulster Club Intermediate Hurling Championship
game between Liatroim (Down) and Owen Roes,
Coleraine (Derry) starting at 12 noon. A parade
of the Down clubs will take place at 1.30 p.m.
with the official blessing and opening of the
new stand at 1.40 p.m. The Powerade Down Minor
Football Championship final between Rostrevor
and Saval is scheduled to start at 2.15 p.m.
with the Powerade Down Senior Football Championship
decider between Mayobridge and Longstone beginning
at 4.00 p.m.
Tickets for the stand are on sale in advance
of the day. These can be purchased (today –
Saturday 6th) from the Down County Treasurer
Hugh John Harper in Hilltown or from the ticket
office in Pairc Elser, Newry between 2.00 p.m.
and 6.00 p.m..
Tickets cost £12 stg or 18 Euros. There
is a limited number of Family and OAP Tickets
also available.
