Carr remains as Down Senior Manager

Last Thursday night the county board re-appointed Ross Carr as senior football manager for 2009. This will be Ross's third year in charge of the senior side having taken over the post in 2007 from Paddy O'Rourke.

2007 saw the county senior football side qualify for the last 12 of the All Ireland as well as defeating Tyrone in the opening round of the Ulster championship. His aim for 2009 will be promotion from division 3 of the league as well as another good run in the championship maybe picking up the ulster title or even the all ireland.
