Full Houses at South Down Scór Semi Finals

 

Scór, the GAA winter talent competitions is enjoying a huge resurgence all over County Down in the past few years, and with the talent on offer in last weekend’s semi finals in Glasdrumman and Hilltown it was no surprise that there were capacity audiences at both venues.
Glassdrumman, on Friday night last had the biggest turnout of clubs and marginally the larger of the two audiences, with competitions in seven of the eight Scór disciplines.

Results from Glasdrumman:
Ceili Dancing: Glasdrumman
Solo Singing: Claire Rooney, Mayobridge; Gary McDowell, Glasdrumman; Dessie Mooney, Saval.
Instrumental Music: Tullylish and Attical
Recitation: Hugh Rodgers, Longstone; Niamh Lennon, Saval; Mark Brennan, Rostrevor.
Novelty Act: Saval, Rostrevor, Attical.
Ballad Group: Saval, Glasdrumman, Tullylish.
Quiz: Longstone, Mayobridge, Tullylish.

In Hilltown, on Sunday night, the competition was of an equally high standard, with clubs putting on an excellent performance in all sections.

Instrumental Music: Drumgath, Glenn.
Recitation: Patrice McPolin, Drumgath; Christopher Grant, Annaclone.

Ballad Group: Rostrevor, Clonduff, Glenn.
Set Dancing: Warrenpoint, Clonduff.
Quiz: Clonduff, Drumgath.

South Down Final
The South Down Final will be held in Saval’s Sports and Leisure Complex on Sunday 24th February with a 6.30pm start time.
