Betsy Gray Cup - Down Club Hurling

The hurling season starts for the intermediate and junior clubs with the Betsy Gray Cup. This year it will be played as a 12 a side competition with both Senior and Junior County panellists ineligible to play. This would normally throw the competition wide open but with all of Bredagh's (last year's Junior championship winners) panellists dropping out of the junior squad it leaves them with a full complement of players for the competition.

The competition starts with a preliminary round on the 17th of February and the first round proper is on the 24th February. The first round losers get relegated to the shield competition and the winners go through to the cup. It is hoped the finals of cup and shield will be played on the 1st May.
