
Down had an amazing 18-point
win in Tullamore, County Offaly to progress
to the second round of the All-Ireland qualifiers.
Ross Carr's men were 3-12
to four points ahead at half-time with goals
coming from Daniel Hughes, John Clarke and
Kevin McKernan.
Benny Coulter who was man
of the match was involved in most of Down's
scores netted Down's fourth goal, however
Offaly did manage a mini-revival with two
goals from Pascal Kellaghan in the second
half.
Ronan Sexton robbed home
keeper Padraic Kelly to score Down's fifth
goal in the last minute.
