Gort Na Mona Camogie club
would like to invite your club to come along
and participate in a memorial tournament being
hosted in memory of our past player and friend
Bronagh Kelly who passed away on the 25th May
2006 following an asthma attack. The tournament
is for the under 16 age group as this was the
last team Bronagh played for, it is a 7 a side
competition with a panel of 10 players.
This will be the third year we have held
this tournament and we hope that we can match
last year’s success and challenge last
year’s winners Loughuile for the Bronagh
Kelly shield. Not only is it a great display
of camogie and skill it is a family day and
everyone is catered for, the Camogie will
run throughout the day on the pitch, in the
car cark there will be fun and games such
as a gladiator challenge and bungee run also
in the lounge there will be a texas holdem
competition.
This year the tournament will take place
on Sunday 24th August 2008 registration will
take place at 10am the teams will then parade
around the pitch and stand for a minutes silence
and national anthem, the play will commencing
at 10.30am sharpe. The games will run throughout
the day with a presentation given in the clubrooms
when the final has been played.
That evening we will also be organising a
fundraiser for the childrens hospice and Gort
Na Mona Camogie club
Can all clubs entering a team please let
us know as soon as possible so we can confirm
the sections and timetable for games. We also
request that all clubs provide a referee on
the day. Due to demand places are limited
and clubs are asked to express their interest
ASAP. Their will be a £20 entrance fee
per team and proceeds of the day will go to
Gort Na Mona Camogie and the Childrens Hospice
We hope that you will all take part and help
celebrate Bronagh through our Camogie.
