The Down GAA Supporters club handed over
a cheque for £10,000 to the Down County
Board’s 2008 training fund. The money
was raised through membership, bus trips,
donations, draws, programme sales and advertising
space in Down’s home national football
league programmes.
The money raised will help to assist with
the promotion of the G.A.A throughout the
County at all levels and it brings the total
contributed by the Supporters Club to the
training fund since 2002 to £47,000.
The supporters club would like to thank all
the programme sponsors and the members of
the club for their continued support and commitment
over the years.
The supporters club are presently organizing
a raffle to which all of Down’s supporters
are asked to contribute. Tickets are now on
sale from any committee member at £2.00
per ticket. In total, there are twenty prizes.
The 1st prize will be a weekend for two in
Dublin.
The supporters club would like to congratulate
Down Senior Footballers on winning the Dr
McKenna Cup and the U21 squad for claiming
the Ulster title. Good luck to the footballers
and hurlers in the upcoming championship games.
