The Irish Panels for this year’s Hurling/Shinty Internationals at U-21 and Senior levels were announced on Friday 8th October with a Down man being named on each panel.

As part of the ongoing efforts to promote hurling in developing/emerging Counties, the team selections will be confined to players from these Counties for the second year running. Gart Savage had been named in the Senior Panel while Brendan McGourty has been named on the U21 panel.

In last year’s senior game at Fort William, Ireland triumphed on a scoreline of 24-16 while the U-21 team had a narrow 12-10 victory at the same venue. This year’s games will take place at Ratoath, Co Meath on Saturday, October 16th. The U-21 game kicks off a three game programme at 12.30pm; at 2pm the Irish Ladies face their Scottish counterparts with the senior men’s game taking place at 3.30pm.
