Down..........0-22
Antrim......1-17
Brendan McGourty scored 0-11 as Down edged out
Antrim in an entertaining Ulster under 21 hurling
championship clash at Casement Park on Wednesday
evening, July 14.
Nine of McGourty’s total came from frees, while
another came from a sideline cut. The Mournemen
were always in control thanks to the dominance
exerted at midfield by Daniel McCusker and the
attacking prowess of Eoin Clarke and McGourty.
Six of McGourty points helped the visitors to
build up a 0-15 to 0-8 lead at the interval.
A Karl Stewart goal just after the restart gave
Antrim hope, but four more points from McGourty
enabled the Mournemen to retake control.
