Before the club leagues commence there will
be a pre-season competition organised by the
Hurling Board.
This follows a motion seeking competitive hurling
for the players when the county is playing and
especially at the start of the season. The ten
adult clubs will play a league, with the top
five qualifying for the Betsy Gray Cup competition,
and the other five playing for the Betsy Gray
Shield.
This should be a good introduction into the
new hurling season for all the participating
clubs, and give them good early season competitive
action.
