Crossey appointed as Down Hurling boss - 24/10/03

John Crossey has been appointed as the new Down hurling manager. The Belfastman takes over from Jimmy O'Reilly who resigned last month after spending four years in charge. Crossey worked as trainer and coach during O'Reilly's stint.

He also worked closely with former Antrim and Ulster hurling manager Jim Nelson in the past with various teams. However, this is Crossey's first venture as manager of a county side in his own right.

He is currently in charge of Belfast club Sarsfields.
