Following's Meath's decision not to field against Down in their rearranged league game, the Mourne County have been awarded the points and qualified for the Division 2 final.

The GAA have confirmed that the re-fixed Allianz Hurling league Division 2 game between Down and Meath scheduled for Sunday next in Portaferry at 5.15pm will not now take place.

After initial agreement to play the game, Meath have withdrawn from the competition as they will be unable to field a team and Down will be awarded the two points for this fixture.

The GAC will discuss the issue at a later date. The Allianz Hurling league Division 2 final will now take place between Down and Westmeath on Sunday May 9th.
