U16 League Latest

Down County U-16 Leagues:

The U-16 league threw up some interesting clashes on Sunday. In Section A, last years winners Castlewellan had good wins over Burren (midweek) and Annaclone to move into top spot. Saval remain in second, but it could go to the wire as Ballymartin and Burren move into contention. Shamrock's have been the surprise package of this league, in only their first season they are causing the big guns some upset with their skill and determination. Their first win of the year is just around the corner, watch this space.

In Section B, the top two clashed in a very close encounter at Cherryvale with the Bryansford girls ousting Bredagh by 2 points in an exciting game. Bright got off the mark after falling agonisingly in their previous two encounters and they will be keen to make up some ground on the leaders. Loughinisland also got their campaign on the way with their first win over visiting Carryduff.

No games this weekend due to the easter celebrations, next fixtures are for Round 5 on Sunday April 18th @ 12:30pm
