Mourne Meeting Re Juvenile Hurling Club
23/02/2004
'The Getting Down To Hurl' document was adopted by the clubs of the county at a special Convention held in 2002. Among the recommendations of that Report was that steps be taken to initiate a juvenile hurling club in The Mournes.
Since that time the An Riocht Club has been making efforts to promote the game at underage level. An Comhairle Iomana are keen to build on this, by exploring possible levels of interest in the game in the entire area.
To this effect the committee is inviting the clubs and primary schools in The Mourne area to a meeting which will be held in The Ballymartin Inn, Ballymartin on Wednesday 3rd March 2004 at 8.00 p.m. An Comhairle Iomana strongly encourages you to be present. We would especially ask you to persuade members of your club or teachers in your school who have a strong interest in hurling to attend
An invitation, by means of a media announcement, is also being extended to people living in The Mournes, who are not presently associated with any of the GAA Clubs in the area, but who are interested in promoting the game of hurling, to attend this meeting.
Trusting that your school/club will be represented on the evening.
