PARADOR LODGE JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
The final of this year’s junior football championship will see Ardglass take on Drumaness. The game is live on DownGAATV on Friday evening, throwing in at 7:30pm.
The mood is good with both camps optimistic going into the game and both playing some of the best football they’ve played all season in recent weeks.
Drumaness have begun to play a more expansive game than they did for much of the league where they had to be more cautious given they were playing in the third division but Ardglass will have the belief they can topple them as they are unbeaten in the championship to date with three successive wins following their opening day draw with Glasdrumman.
PARADOR LODGE INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The final of the intermediate football championship sees last year’s beaten finalists Rostrevor return to the decider where this time round they’ll face Liatroim Fontenoys.
At the outset of the championship these two would have been the favourites in the eyes of most observers and there’s little to seperate them with both league games this year having ended as draws.
It should make for a very keenly contested final with the double prize of not just a place in the Ulster club championship but also a berth in next year’s senior championship at stake. The game is live on DownGAATV on Saturday evening with throw in at 4:45pm.
MORGAN FUELS SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
The two most successful clubs in Down’s footballing history will once more line out against each other on county final day with Kilcoo and Burren the pairing for Sunday’s eagerly anticipated encounter.
Both sides have been faultless in the championship so far with each winning four from four. Kilcoo are bidding to win a fifth consecutive senior title while Burren are aiming to make it a clean sweep of the adult football championships for 2023 having already annexed the Reserve and Premier Reserve trophies.
Both squads are packed with ability and all the necessary skills to make this an absorbing encounter. From pace to physicality, power to precision and real-tough defenders to sharp-shooting forwards this could be a game for the ages. Throwing in at 2:15pm on Sunday it’s live on TG4 with deferred coverage including English language commentary available on DownGAATV shortly after the final whistle.
