Down went to Ederney on Sunday and ultimately came up a point short in a thrilling game against a hungry and talented Fermanagh side. Trailing by six at half time, Down roared back and thanks to three second half goals found themselves two points up going into stoppage time but there was to be a sting in the tale as Sean Quigley palmed a late, late goal for Fermanagh.
Though it was a disappointing result there were again some positives for Down to take from it and with the turnaround to Westmeath in Pairc Esler only six days there isn’t time to dwell on the loss, instead the focus must quickly shift to getting back to winning ways against their Leinster opposition next Saturday evening.
