The Late Dermot Baxter

Coiste Chontae an Dúin and the family that is Down GAA are saddened to learn of the death of Dermot Baxter. 

Dermot was a past Secretary, Chairperson and County Committee member with his Club Rostrevor, he also served on the County Planning and Physical Development Committee. In each role that Dermot filled he brought a great level of expertise and a great commitment to the ethos of the GAA as he sought to serve his Club and his county at all times trying to make a difference for the good of our members. 

Dermot was just one of those decent people, who we are so lucky to have in our Clubs and our County, people who just make things happen, with no fuss and no seeking of the limelight, Dermot was that type of man, he just got on with getting the job done, for his Club, his County and his Community.

To Dermot's wife Mary, to his children Ciarán, Oonagh, Conor and Brendan, his grandchildren, his siblings and to the Gaels of Rostrevor we extend our condolences on the loss of a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Club member.

 Funeral Arrangements

Baxter (Rostrevor) 19 Pine Valley. Peacefully at St. John of God Hospice Newry, Dermot, beloved husband to Mary and devoted father to Ciarán, Oonagh, Conor and Brendan, a loving grandfather, uncle and brother.

Dermot’s remains will be reposing at his late residence, 19 Pine Valley today Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th of December.

Dermot’s remains will leave his late residence on Friday the 17th December at 2pm for 2.30pm Requiem Mass at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, Rostrevor. Interment immediately afterwards in Kilbroney Cemetery.
