Bernie McNally back in management - 25/10/02

Bernie McNally has returned in a management role in Down camogie after a three year break in which the county's fortunes have nose-dived.

The move comes shortly after a crisis meeting was held on the future of Down camogie on the inter-county scene.

The Armagh native was in charge of the Mourne county when they made the breakthrough in 1991 with the All-Ireland junior title, and she also guided them to four National League Finals and two Intermediate Championship deciders before all came together with that particular 'double' in 1998.

She will have her work cut out to restore the county to that level of performance once more, but the fact that she has returned has to be a confidence booster to the game in the county at the present time.
