East Down U-16 Football League
Section B: Ballykinlar 6-07 St
Pauls 1-07
Six well taken
goals from Ballykinlar helped the
seasiders overcome a spirited St
Pauls offering in an extremely
entertaining game.
Three of the
Kinlar goals came in the first
half whilst the other treble
arrived in the second. The pick of
the first half goals was a sweetly
struck penalty from Conall McKee.
Full forward Declan Kavanagh added
the other two aswell as helping
himself to four points from play.
The tricky Sean O'Rourke also got
in on the act with his one and
only score of the night. St Pauls
could only manage two points in
the opening thirty minutes.
The first
fifteen minutes of the second half
saw the Holywood lads storm back
in to the game as they added 1-04
without reply. However, the Kinlar
adjusted their positional play and
went on to score 3-02 in the last
quarter compared to a solitary St
Pauls point. Blaine Warnock's
second was the best score of the
night.
This victory
extended Ballykinlar's unbeaten
run to three games. Slowly but
surely the underdogs are making
steady progress up the league
ladder.
