East Down U-16 Football
Championship Preliminary Round
Ballykinlar
4-05 St Pauls 2-03
Ballykinlar
battled against the elements and
a strong St Pauls offering to go
through to the first round
proper of the U-16 championship.
Leading by
four points at the break the
Kinlar fought hard in the second
half to maintain their lead.
Declan Kavanagh and Sean
O'Rourke were the two most
dangerous players on show and
their scoring exploits went a
long way to securing the
homeside's victory.
Other players
to impress were Richard
Fitzsimons, Ryan Cardwell and
Anthony Mageean in the backline.
Martin Willoughby, Patrick Curry
and Anthony Robb were strongest
in a wasteful forward line.
East Down
kingpins Carryduff await the
Kinlar in the next round and if
the seasiders are going to have
any aspirations of progressing
they will have to improve
dramatically infront of goal.
