Burren Senior Awards for 2002

The recent annual presentation night had a huge turn out of young people all dressed well for the occasion. The Hall of Fame award was presented to Canon John Treanor and medals were distributed by Rev Fr Byrne, Jimmy Heaney and Edward McAteer, chairman of the Social Club.

The Player of the Year awards in each category were, Senior – Aidan McGivern, Ladies Senior – Kerry Mc Cabe, Junior – Stephen and Darren O’Hare, Reserve – Conor McConville and the Donal Gavigan Shield went to Stephen McNulty.

The crowd was entertained by ‘The Bard of Armagh’, Pat McGeeney from Mullaghbawn who had the crowd in hysterics with his Armagh and Down stories and photographs. The entertainment which followed was provided by Merger and a few more dancing trophies were handed out to Kevin Mc Govern and Dan McCartan.
