Monday night’s
visitors to the Quarter Road were
Drumgath and they met a determined
Glasdrumman team keen to get revenge
for their defeat earlier in the
season in Drumgath. Following their
win against Ballymartin and their
narrow defeat at the hands of Attical
in the championship and at last
able to field something close to
their strongest team, Glasdrumman
were full of confidence going into
the match. Drumgath were first to
score with a point in the first
minute but Raymond Clarke equalised
a minute later followed within two
minutes by a goal from Mark Trimble.
Inspired by this, Raymond Magorrian,
Pat Mallon and Raymond Clarke knocked
over points apiece before Peter
Hynds pulled one back for Drumgath
in the fifteenth minute. Two minutes
later midfielder Declan Grant found
the back of the Drumgath net with
a rasping shot.
Glasdrumman
seemed to take their foot of the
pedal and allowed Dan McCabe in
for two points to leave the halftime
score Glasdrumman 2-04 Drumgath
0-4. Dan McCabe opened the scoring
in the second half with two further
points interspersed with a point
by Raymond Magorrian. Shane Feeney
added a further two points before
Mick Mooney scored his first point
of the game to further extend the
Glasdrumman lead.
In the eighteenth
minute Peter Hynds pulled one back
for Drumgath but this was cancelled
out almost immediately with a point
from Raymond Clarke. Dan McCabe
and Peter Hynds pulled two points
back for Drumgath but Glasdrumman
turned the screw in the last eight
minute with a second goal from Declan
Grant and three points from Raymond
Magorrian, Shane Feeney and Mark
Trimble to leave the final score
Glasdrumman 3-12 Drumgath 0-9.
