Friday night's
visitors to the Quarter Road were
Kilclief and as with all the recent
games between these teams it proved
to be a tense affair. Glasdrumman
started where they left off on Monday
night and within four minutes had
opened up a three point lead with
a point from Mick Mooney and two
from Raymond Magorrian.
Kilclief
started to settle and by the eighth
minute were level with points from
Julian Swail, Phelim Sharvin and
Mark Polly. In the twelfth minute
Julian Swail added his second point
of the half to give Kilclief the
lead for the first time but points
from Mick Mooney and Raymond Clarke
soon restored the Glasdrumman lead.
However this was short lived as
Ronan Strain found the back of the
Glasdrumman net in the sixteenth
minute and Rory Sharvin added a
point two minutes later.
Glasdrumman
hit back with points from Raymond
Clarke and Pat Mallon in the twentieth
and twenty second minute before
Ronan Strain and Raymond Magorrian
exchanged points to leave the half
time score Glasdrumman 0-8 Kilclief
1-6.
Cormac Murphy opened the scoring
in the second half with two points
in the first five minutes before
Kieran Sloan levelled the game again
for Kilclief Ten minutes later centre
half back Kieran Polly put Kilclief
in front with a point from a forty
five but Declan Grant levelled the
game again two minutes later. The
game was balanced on a knife edge
and Kilclief had a chance to secure
the two points but for a superb
save by the Glasdrumman keeper Paul
Brennan.
Kilclief
went ahead again through Kieran
Sloan but two points from the ever
accurate boot of Cormac Murphy left
Glasdrumman with a one point lead
before Rory Sharvin got the last
point of the game to leave the final
score Glasdrumman 0-13 Kilclief
1-10.

** The U-16 put up a great performance
on Thursday night against a very
strong Ballymartin side. The game
was level with five minutes to go
but the physical strength of the
Ballymartin team told in the last
few minutes to run out winners on
the night.
** Our thanks to Zebedee's who presented
the U-16 with their new strip before
the Ballymartin game.
** The minors, playing with Attical,
kept their unbeaten record on Wednesday
night when they secured a draw against
Newry Bosco in Attical.
** This week the senior team are
away to Drumgath on Friday night
By John Brennan.
