Glenn 0-3 Glasdrumman 2-13
On Tuesday evening, the Glasdrumman
U-16 squad had the long journey to
Glenn. After two previous wins, the
team was confident they could take
the points again this week.
Glasdrumman, playing with a strong
wind, took quite a while to get into
their stride. Glenn were unlucky to
miss a goal opportunity and shot
three wides inside the opening
quarter. After this early scare, a
well-taken point form Mark Doran and
a few scores from play and free
kicks from Connaire Harrison,
Glasdrumman forged ahead. After good
play through the middle of the park
from Christopher Cassidy, Ryan Doran
and Paul Grant, Stefan McGuinness
hit the back of the net with a
tremendous left-foot effort to put
distance between the teams. Another
goal from Connaire Harrison extended
Gladrumman’s lead. Glenn, replied
with good movement of the ball and
some good passing, which resulted in
a well worked score. Half-time
score: Glenn 0-1 Glasdrumman 2-7
In the second half, Connaire
Harrison played a deeper role and
helped in midfield alongside Paul
Grant and Eddie Colway to control
play more. Super sub Daniel Rooney
led the line up front with a great
score after good play from Colm
Grant and Conor Stevenson. Nathan
McCracken got a deserved point of
his own after trying hard throughout
the game towards the end. A solid
second half display eased
Glasdrumman through to another win.
