GOOD AWAY WIN FOR GLASDRUMMAN MINORS: Atticall 0-8 Glasdrumman 1-8
After a
couple of weeks break Glasdrumman
Minors made the short trip to Atticall
on Wednesday expecting a tough game
against their neighbours.
Glasdrumman had a good first half and
began well with two points from
Connaire Harrison. Stefan McGuinnes
followed this up with another point
and just when Atticall looked to be
gaining control of the game Conor
Clerkin popped up with a goal just as
the half ended to leave the half time
score Atticall 0-5 Glasdrumman 1-3.
The
second half started well for
Glasdrumman with Paul Quinn popping
over two further points to increase
Glasdrumman's lead. Atticall kept in
touch throughout the game, never
allowing Glasdrumman to pull away.
Glasdrumman however kept the pressure
on and were rewarded with another
three points before the end, one each
from Martin McGrath, a third from
Connaire Harrison and their final
score from James McDowell. Atticall
pressed forward towards the end in an
attempt to salvage something from the
game, but a well drilled Glasdrumman
defence held out for a well deseved
win, leaving the final score Atticall
0-8 Glasdrumman 1-8.
Both
sets of players must be congratulated
for an entertaining and sporting game.
The form of the Glasdrumman Minor
squad continues to keep spirits high
within the club as the Seniors go
through a tough period.
